IBPS SO 2020 Selection Process
Selection procedure of IBPS SO (specialist officer)
The selection procedure for IBPS SO has three stages
- Prelims
- Mains
- Interview
Online preliminary examination
Students are requiring scoring minimum sufficient scores in the prelims exam in order to reach mains.
The sufficient number of each student is shortlisted from each category.
Online mains examination
After successfully cracking the prelims exam students get eligible for mains.
Candidates have to undergo the professional test in mains exam to be eligible for interview.
Interview
The participating bank will conduct the interview coordinated by the nodal banks and supported by the IBPS.
The interview plays an important role in the selection procedure.

What is provisional allotment?
In provisional allotments IBPS shortlist students and allot them participating banks who have successfully cleared the prelims, mains, and interview. Also, students who have cleared the final cut off. After provisional allotment merit list will be prepared.
Job aspirants’ provisional allotment of IBPS SO will be released on its official website.
The role of IBPS authority is limited till the provisional allotment of candidates after the responsibility further lies with the bank regarding informing and appointment.

This year, ibps so Examination will be conducted in two-phase

Prelims examination
The duration of prelims examination is of two hours. The mode of examination is online.
It consists of three section having 150 questions in total. The total score is 125 marks.

The mains examination will ask questions only from professional knowledge subjects.

IBPS Specialist officer Interview 2020
Candidates are required to qualify both IBPS SO CWE and interview and sufficient score high in the merit to be shortlisted for final provisional allotment.
Candidates who have been shortlisted in the mains exam CRP SPL-VII will get a call for interview round coordinated by the nodal banks.
The interview Centre, address, time and all other important details will be notified to the candidate on time via mail or text message on the registered phone number.
Candidates are required to download an interview letter from the official website of IBPS
Please note changes regarding venue and date of interview will not be entertained.
However, only IBPS the main conducting authority have the right to make changes in the exam center venue and date.
The interview carries total 100 marks. The qualifying marks are 40% (35% for SC/SCT/PWD categories)
The weight age ratio of CWE mains and interview is 80:20
As we all know interview plays important role in final selection of candidates.
Those who are unable to score well the interview session will be barred from the interview and shall not be considered for allotment.
